Unfurling Fronds

Something that amazes me about creation is the way different things grow. Take this fern for example. I saw it today in its growing stages and took this picture. Ferns have always been interesting plants to me...the way they emerge from the earth rolled tightly up in a ball that slowly unwinds to leave a beautiful plant. What's so special about that? Well, what I like to think about as I look at this fern is the creativity of God. He could have made the fern just shoot up out of the dirt in a straight spike, but instead he gave this species a little mystery and uniqueness. And the benefit for us is that every day as the sun's beams coax the fern a little more from its cocoon, we have a different picture to enjoy. I appreciate that!
